About

Allen Hanson, RPBio.

Senior Biologist, Project Manager

I’m a Senior Biologist and Project Manager with over 25 years of experience in fisheries and aquatic science. I lead HIGHRIDGE Environmental Consulting, a BC-based firm specializing in science-based and cost-effective environmental solutions. I’ve worked across the province on a wide range of projects involving hydroelectric development, transportation, energy, and urban infrastructure. My experience includes more than 20 hydroelectric projects, including 14 run-of-river facilities, covering all phases from baseline studies through permitting, construction, operations, and compliance monitoring.

I have a strong background in habitat assessment, species recovery, offsetting, and effectiveness monitoring. I’m well-versed in regulatory frameworks and permitting processes and take pride in delivering technically sound, regulator-ready reports that meet compliance needs and project deadlines. I hold a BSc from Simon Fraser University and am a Registered Professional Biologist in good standing with the College of Applied Biology. I’m also an active member of the Association of Professional Biologists of BC, the American Fisheries Society, and the Canadian Water Resources Association.
